It is that time of year again. Every year around this time we go to the Polar Express for those of you who have never been you should go it is alot of fun. You get to the train and wait outside for what feels like forever until the "chef" is ready. Then when you get inside and everyone is settled the train sets off for "the north pole". It is alot of fun for everyone, if follows the story of "The Polar Express" Book. On the way to the north pole you get hot chocolate which might I say this year was really good and you get a cookie. Then after you are done with that you read the story "The Polar Express" just about the time you are done with that you are at the "north pole" where Santa is standing there waiting to climb aboard the train and gave every child aboard a "silver bell". We have went for years but this year was interesting we started going we had only been going about 15-20 minutes and the lights started flickering then all of the sudden went off then the train stopped. Which of course delayed us a bit I think we sat there 10 mintues or so and you could tell the conductors were trying their hardest to fix whatever was wrong. The lights would go back on for a minute then all of the sudden go off again. It did that a couple of times before they finally stayed on. We were all trying to reassure our kids that the lights would come back on. I had to use my cell phone for a light for Zaya because she hates the dark. And if any of you have seen the polar express movie there is a time that the lights go off on the train and the train does stop for caribou although this stop was not on purpose I still don't know why it did stop but it did finally start again and we were on our way to the North Pole. It was kind of a bummer though because Santa didn't get to our car until the train was almost back to the station. We had fun though we always stay at a hotel up there which of course the kids LOVE!! And we always eat at our favorite place the Polar Keen. It was a fun time!! Oh and poor Zay and Steve we forgot Zaya coat at home so poor Steve gave Zaya his coat. Such a good daddy. I felt so bad he had to have been freezing. Atleast it wasn't snowing this year.
