I am so sad here we are, almost the middle of August already where did the time go. We have had an amazing summer. We have done so much as a family and really gotten to enjoy Steve now that he is out of school (atleast for now). Summer started out kinda slow seeing it didn't get warm till so late but it sure did pick up and we had some amazing times.
The last weekend in June we went to Lagoon for our first camping trip of the season. It is always so much fun to stay there because you can go and go and go then go back to the trailer and crash. There was one night we didn't get back to the trailer until almost 11. Needless to say the kids didn't wake up till late the next day which would have been nice had it not been Sunday and the day we had to check out. We were scrambling to check out on time but somehow we made it.
The next weekend was fourth of July weekend. Azzayah was in the fourth of July parade with her dance group and had a great time riding on the float. After that we had a BBQ with Steves family where the kids had a great time on the slip and slide and so did Steve and his dad. I will try to add a slide show so everyone can see all the pictures there are way to many to post.
After the fourth of July weekend Xavier started his swimming lessons. We had a great time sitting by the pool for two weeks. I am really going to miss going to the pool with my best friend Heather we had such a good time together. We did have a couple of bad sunburns but for the most part we did pretty good. And Xavier meet a new friend Cassity. She is such a cute girl. She doesn't live too far from us but they had never met before swimming lessons. They had a good time together. I think Xavier had a bit of a crush on her he followed her everywhere it was so cute.
After swimming lessons we made our trip to Mirror Lake we spent five days there and it was such a good time. We don't get to do "real camping" much meaning no hookups. But we fished most everyday and went for walks and took tons of pictures. Check out my facebook page for those pictures. Both kids caught and fish and had lots of fun. We did have a problem with our truck which made us have to drive back to Kamas 32 miles each way to get replacement parts. But it was all part of the adventure. And luckily I have an amazing husband who always brings tool and who could fix it at the campsite. We also had two water leaks in our trailer but once again Super Steve to the rescue and he saved the day and fixed the leaks.
After Mirror Lake we came home for two days then headed up to Layton for the weekend and went to Lagoon yet again for the weekend. We went Friday and Saturday and we were able to get most of the rides in, in just a couple of hours which left us time to go back to the hotel and have so time in the pool. We also celebrated Steves birthday while we were up there. The kids loved being able to eat cake at the hotel. Then Sunday we went to the Dinosaur Park which the kids really liked. However Xavier was a little scared the the dinosaurs were going to come alive and eat him.
Our last weekend in July we had a great BBQ to celebrate Steve's and my sister Renee's birthday. We had a great time despite the rain and the wind. We were able to have our dinner and play some kickball in the rain. It was so much fun. However I do realize how old I am getting my legs hurt for days. But we all had a lot of fun and it was great being able to spend time with my family.
We also had a new additon to our family. A new four wheeler. We are excited to now have two four wheelers that we can all go up into the mountains and drive around together. Before we either had to borrow a machine or take turns on the one we had so we are excited to be able to go out together now.
This has been our summer thus far. We also went to family reunion last weekend we have another one this weekend. Steve and I also celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary. Okay celebrated might be a strong word. It came we said happy anniversary to each other and it went. But hopefully in a couple of weeks when everything has calmed down we will be able to go out and celebrate. Steve also starts his hunts which will go for the next month. So this will probably be the extent of our summer. He has been an amazing one. One that I am so sad to see go away. I am always sad for the end of summer because we always have so much fun together as a family. However I do think both kids are ready for school to start. I see them fighting more and getting more and more ansy. Knowing that the inevitable is near. I hope everyone has had some exciting adventures as well. Here to a new school year and hopefully more exciting adventures to come.
